Shuffleboard Tournament

Here is the page of photos from the Don Johnk Memorial Shuffleboard Tournament held last week in Leisure World. (Click on the picture to see it larger.) This was published in the November "LEISURE LORE'. I will read through the article and try to get a posting of the highlights entered on this post....tomorrow!

Gospel Jam Correction

My apologies to Phyllis Connett and Wally Bendt and to you the residents of Leisure World. I submitted information for the Leisure Lore regarding the first Gospel Jam. The date submitted was December 1st, which is incorrect. The correct date is December 6th, which is the first Sunday in December.

The Gospel Jams will be the first Sunday of each month. The jams will be advertised in the monthly calendar, the Leisure Lore and will be posted in the Rec Hall.

We look forward to seeing all of you at the jams.

Winter Texans

It's the season...our Winter Texan neighbors are arriving in droves.

But there's another set of Winter Texans that are just passing through. Each year we enjoy the annual butterfly migration. And thanks to the labors of Janet Sheetz and Bob Clark, a flowerbed in Leisure World sports the most attractive plants for our visiting migrants. They will soon be on their way to their winter homes further south, but we can enjoy their visit now.

The Leisure World Park Flags have been lowered to half mast in honor of the thirteen soldiers killed in the shooting event at Ft. Hood. Let's all remember our troops.
